Trump 'United States To Lower Tariff Rate For India'

US President Donald Trump said that he will lower the tariffs on India, including the penalty tariffs and have a trade deal soon. “Right now, the tariffs are high on India because of Russian oil.

And they stopped doing the Russian oil. It’s been reduced very substantially. Yeah, we

are going to be bringing the tariffs down,” Trump said while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office.

According to the data from Kpler, India's Russian oil imports stood at 1.48 million barrels per day (bpd) in October against 1.9 million bpd in the first nine months of 2025.
