Moscow: Ever imagined a dog doing skydiving? Now, the Russian soldiers are doing the same by attaching service canines to their chests and jumping off a plane. A video has gone viral showing just that has baffled everyone around the world.

The 'pawtastic' warriors are diving from the plane that is flying at 13,000 feet. The army dogs are being prepared for any war-like situation that takes place in the country. The country's defence ministry TV channel called 'Zhevda' aired the moment that has now raked in a lot of views.

It shows the soldiers taking the dog to the plane, one of whom is a German Shepherd. A nozzle is attached to the mouth as well as he is tied to the soldier. In tandem and solo, the trained men jump off the plane with the canine in tow.

As soon as they land on the ground, around four people rush to assist them as they touchdown.

The clip has been doing the rounds on Twitter and on YouTube.

According to the government-run TV channel, it is stated that the dogs were match-fit and 'followed all the commands'. They have made around eight jumps till now. The report also added that the canines are quite 'fascinated' by the surroundings and also try to catch the cloud 'with their paws.

Test parachutist named Andrey Toporkov

describes it all to The Sun, "The most important thing is to get the dogs into the aircraft. They tolerate the flight and even watch the clouds through the window. When the hatch opens, there is wind. There is noise. Thanks to the dog handler, they calm down."

He also added that the dog handler has to acquaint himself with the dog. Another important thing he added that since they can smell fear, it is best to try not to be scared about skydiving.

While this may seem interesting, a lot of doubts have been raised about it being an act of cruelty towards them. Not just the attached harness being extremely painful, the fact that they are jumping down from a steep height could cause a lot of detrimental issues.
