Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to visit China as the Iran war continues into its fifth week with little clarity about when the conflict will conclude.
Dar’s trip to China on Tuesday comes at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
The two officials are set to discuss
regional developments and bilateral matters, according to the release. China’s foreign ministry also confirmed the visit.
Pakistan and China have urged talks between Iran and the US to work toward ending a war that has disrupted global markets and sent oil prices surging. Pakistan has emerged as a key player in seeking to broker peace, leveraging ties with both Trump and longstanding bonds with Iran.
