Just two days after Iran’s Defence Minister Amir Nasirzadeh was reportedly killed in US‑Israel strikes, the country’s newly appointed Defence Minister, Seyed Majid Eb Al‑Reza, is now also said to have been killed in further Israeli attacks, according to a report from The Spectator Index.

This follows earlier reports that both Nasirzadeh and Revolutionary Guards commander Mohammad Pakpour were believed killed in strikes on Saturday.

The deaths of top Iranian leaders come after the United States and Israel launched a major military operation against Iran.  The strikes described as one of the most extensive air campaigns in decades

hit military and strategic sites across the country. They also reportedly damaged areas near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose death has been confirmed by Iranian state media and widely reported abroad.

US President Donald Trump said the campaign, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, aimed to stop what Washington and its allies view as imminent threats from Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.

Trump urged the Iranian people to “take control of your destiny” and challenge their government, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the joint operation was meant to help Iranians shape their own future.
