Maldives achieves 1.6 million tourists target

Maldives achieved the target of 1.6 million tourists it set for 2022 yesterday. The archipelago nation saw interest by tourists despite the worldwide spread of Omicron variant of Covid in the first two months of the year.

The target was achieved by the Maldives with Mr. Sanjay Tejas Kothari who was given a warm



welcome. 1.6 mn was Maldives target for 2022.

Indian is the biggest contributor with over 15 percent share in the tourism market occupying the top position since 2020 due to better & enhanced connectivity between India and Maldives as well as strong people-to-people relations.
