London: Liz Truss is right-winged member of the Conservative party and MP for Southwest Norfolk. Truss is considered the economic descendant of the Iron Lady and plans to cut taxes immediately.

Truss is a 46-year-old politician born in Oxford who grew up in Leeds after her father got a job as a University Mathematics professor. While studying philosophy, politics, and economics (PPE) at Oxford, Truss became the president of the Liberal Democrats society and

joined the Conservatives in 1996.

She will now take on Indian-origin Rishi Sunak and face the Conservative Party’s around 2,00,000 members who will decide their new leader and Britain’s next PM on September 5.

Liz Truss is ranking first in polls so far and could leave Sunak behind to become the country’s third woman premier after Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May.
