Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in ‘forging peace.’ During a private dinner at the White House, marking their third meeting this year, Prime Minister Netanyahu personally handed President Trump a copy of the nomination letter he sent to the Nobel committee. He praised Mr Trump’s efforts in promoting peace and security,

particularly in West Asia.

During the meeting, Mr Netanyahu also voiced support for a controversial proposal by President Trump to relocate Palestinians from Gaza and transform the conflict-ridden coastal strip into a luxury waterfront development. The visit comes amid mounting global criticism of Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza.
