Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has criticized Qatar accusing it of playing both sides and urging it to choose between civilization and supporting Hamas.
Qatar rejected the statement, calling it inflammatory and lacking responsibility.
In a social media post yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu characterized Israel’s military actions as a just war with just means, framing the ongoing conflict as a broader struggle between civilization and barbarism.
He also urged Qatar to clarify its stance,
accusing it of playing both sides and calling on the Gulf state to choose between the side of civilization or aligning with Hamas.
In response, Qatar’s Foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari condemned the statements as inflammatory and said they failed to meet basic standards of political and moral responsibility.
Al-Ansari reiterated Qatar’s commitment to mediation, not military engagement, and highlighted that it was through diplomatic efforts that 138 hostages had already been freed.
