The crescent moon, which marks the beginning of the holy month of Muharram 1447 AH-2025, has been sighted in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday evening, June 26.
As a result, Wednesday is the 29th and last day of Dhul-Hijjah 1446, and Thursday, June 27, will be observed
as the first day of Muharram and the beginning of the new Islamic year, 1447 AH.
The announcement was made by the Saudi Supreme Court after the crescent moon was sighted in various regions across the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
