The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq has "welcomed" the ceasefire announcement between the US and Iran and called for launching "serious" and "sustainable" dialogue tracks to enhance mutual trust.
"While the Ministry affirms its support for any regional and international efforts that contribute to containing crises and promoting dialogue and diplomacy, it stresses the
importance of full commitment to the ceasefire and refraining from any practices or escalations that could bring tension back to the regional scene," according to a statement by the Ministry.
"The ministry also calls for building on this positive step by launching serious and sustainable dialogue tracks that address the root causes of the disputes and enhance mutual trust," it added.
