Sharjah: Visitors to Sharjah’s waterfront Al Qasba promenade on Wednesday will be able to taste, shop and watch all things Indian.
Food, textiles and jewellery will be sold from stalls. Musical shows, folklore dances and professional puppeteers will also perform. The festival is designed for families and people of all ages.
Visitors at the festival can also attend workshops. These include sessions on the art of rangoli, a tradition form of decoration using coloured sand or flower petals. There will also be live cooking shows.
On Friday, at 7.15pm,

Dubai-based trainer Sumit Manav will host a healthy lifestyle session on yoga.
The festival reflects the “importance of the Indian community in the UAE and the significant contribution its people and heritage bring”, according to Al Qasba’s manager, Sultan Shattaf.
Al Qasba, well known for its large Ferris wheel, is located in Sharjah’s Al Khan district.
Situated along a waterway between two of the city’s lagoons, residents find the promenade a scenic place to eat and spend time with their families.
The four-day festival runs until Saturday.
