Houthi militias have allegedly used an Iranian-made ballistic missile to bomb the area of Al Manther in Hodeidah, Yemen. According to the Emirates News Agency , the bombing was a direct response to locals rejecting the presence of militias in the area, and is a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

The indiscriminate shelling has reportedly instilled fear and panic among locals. The latest targeting of innocent civilians , according to the coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia , proves that Iran continues to support the militias by supplying them with smuggled weapons, in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216, which bans the supply of arms to the group, a matter which continues to threaten security and stability in the region.

Meanwhile , the Saudi Press Agency has reported that the Yemeni Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh has affirmed that e US contribution and assistance in building the national army in his country will bring security and stability to Yemen and will serve regional and international efforts to protect corridors.

During his meeting with Gen. Joseph Votel, Commander of the

US Central Command in Manama today, the Yemeni Vice President expressed appreciation of the US efforts in combatting terrorism and supporting the Yemeni national army.

The two sides also discussed the alleged Iranian violations and interferences in the Yemeni affairs. The Yemeni Civil War is an ongoing conflict that began in 2015 between two factions: the then-incumbent Yemeni government, led by Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, and the Houthi militia, along with their supporters and allies.

Alarmed by the rise of a group they believed to be backed militarily by regional Shia power Iran, Saudi Arabia and eight other mostly Sunni Arab states began an air campaign aimed at restoring Mr Hadi's government. The coalition received logistical and intelligence support from the US, UK and France.

The launch of a ballistic missile towards Riyadh in November 2017 prompted the Saudi-led coalition to tighten its blockade of Yemen. Iran has however, denied the accusation of arming the rebels.

Yemen , according to UN is the world's worst man-made humanitarian disaster.
