Dallas: In a yet another hate crime incident in the United States of America, a Muslim mother and daughter were attacked at Reunion Tower, in Dallas.

According to sources, the incident took place at around 7:30 pm, on Sunday in which Renee Ayesh and her daughter, Jenan Ayesh from Oklahoma were attacked when they had visited the landmark as part of a family get-together in Dallas. Ayesh and Jenan both wearing hijabs. They were in the lobby of the tower waiting for her son-in-law to pick them up.

According to them, they were standing just to the side of one of the double doors when a

woman exiting the building told her to get out of the way. Apologizing Ayesh moved away but said to the woman ‘There’s another door you could have used.’

On this, the woman began arguing and cursing them and said, “Why are you here? Go back to your country.” The woman called the hijab a ‘dirt rag’ on the head. The woman also ripped off Jenan’s hijab, then grabbed her hair and tried to force her to the ground.

Jenan and Renee are traumatized by the incident as they had never come across such behaviour before. Police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.
