First 32 women loco pilots at work on Haramain express in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: After a year of training, the Saudi Railways Authority (SAR) now has 32 female Haramain Express train drivers who are qualified.

Over the course of a year, the female drivers received both theoretical and practical training from experts from the Saudi Technical Institute of



Railways (SRB).

The Haramain express train has a length of 450 kilometers, a capacity for 60 million passengers annually, and an operating speed of 300 kilometers per hour. It connects Makkah and Madinah in just 120 minutes. It also goes through Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City.
