External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will be on a two-day visit to Switzerland beginning today. This is the third and final leg of his 3-nation visit to Saudi Arabia, Germany and Switzerland. In Geneva, External Affairs Minister will meet heads and representatives of international organisations with whom India is actively engaged. Geneva is home to a large number of UN bodies and international organizations. He will also meet the Swiss Foreign Minister to review the close partnership between the two countries and explore avenues to enhance the bilateral relationship further.

Earlier yesterday, Dr Jaishankar called on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin and



conveyed the personal greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr. Jaishankar was in Germany on the second leg of his three-nation tour. He met Friedrich Merz, Chairman of Germany’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party, and member of the CDU-CSU (Christian Social Union) parliamentary group. 

The External Affairs Minister also interacted with the members of the German parliament known as the Bundestag. Dr Jaishankar also held wide-ranging discussions with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock and took stock of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, covering areas such as trade, defence and security.
