Dubai completes first air taxi test flight

Dubai has taken a major stride in future mobility with the successful test flight of an air taxi developed by Joby Aviation, a US-based pioneer in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

The announcement was made on Monday, June 30, by Sheikh Hamdan bin



Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of the Executive Council.

In a post on X, Sheikh Hamdan hailed the achievement as a “major step” towards launching commercial operations in 2026.
