Death toll rises to 64 in China chemical plant explosion

In China, the death toll in the powerful explosion at a chemical plant has climbed to 64 as a number of people succumbed to their injuries. 

Over 600 persons have been injured in the blast. According to officials, the incident occurred on Thursday following a



fire in a fertilizer factory in a chemical industrial park in Jiangsu province. 

According to media reports, executives of the chemical plant province have been taken into police custody after the incident.
