Salim Dola, a close associate of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim, has been brought to India after being deported from Istanbul.
He arrived at the Delhi Technical Airport following a coordinated operation involving Indian intelligence agencies and international partners.
Dola is currently being interrogated by intelligence officials and is expected to be handed over to Mumbai Police for further questioning. Authorities believe he played a
key role in Dawood Ibrahim’s alleged drug trafficking network.
According to Media, Dola was arrested on April 25 by Turkish authorities after a targeted raid by the Narcotics Crimes Division of the Istanbul Police Department. He had been hiding in a residence in the Beylikdüzü district.
Officials tracked his location through extensive technical and physical surveillance before carrying out the operation. He was later processed for deportation to India.
