British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will visit India at the end of April. His office said, it will be his first major international trip after Britain’s exit from the European Union. Mr Johnson had planned an Indian visit in January as part of efforts to speed up trade talks between the two nations but was forced to cancel amid a surge of COVID-19 infections at home.

Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Harsh V Shringla held a

comprehensive discussion with UK Minister of State for Foreign Commonwealth and Development Affairs Tariq Ahmed in New Delhi yesterday on issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar received Mr Ahmed and discussed the India-UK bilateral ties and global cooperation. The visiting leader also met Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy.
