In Russia, dozens of schoolchildren were evacuated from the border city of Belgorod today following a spate of deadly Ukrainian shelling attacks.

The region’s governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that the first group of children have left Belgorod for the neighbouring region of Voronezh. He said, 93 children from first to fourth grade from different schools of the city will have a rest and gain health in children’s health camps.

Yesterday, Russia said, its military would do everything possible to stop the Ukrainian shelling of Belgorod,

days after a series of strikes on the city killed 25 people.

On the other hand, the Lithuanian authorities approved a package of long-term military assistance to Ukraine, totalling 200 million euros. Lithuania will send Ukraine ammunition, generators, and detonation systems in January, as well as M577 armoured personnel carriers in February. This was announced by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy in Vilnius, Lithuanian capital.
