Alaska meet: Vladimir Putin dials PM Modi, briefs him on meeting with Trump

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a phone call from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who briefed him on the recent meeting with President Trump in Alaska. India has consistently advocated for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict, supporting all efforts in this regard. 

The Prime Minister reiterated India's position, stating, "this is not an era of war," and that a solution can only be achieved through dialogue and



diplomacy. 

This diplomatic exchange precedes a significant meeting in Washington D.C. tonight, where President Trump is expected to meet President Zelensky and other European leaders, including the German Chancellor, French President, Italian Prime Minister, and UK Prime Minister. The discussions are anticipated to focus on security interests and a long-term peace solution for the Ukraine conflict, with all eyes on the outcomes of these high-level talks.
