The Russia-Ukraine war has ravaged major cities of Ukraine and the visuals from the ruins are simply horrifying. However, several stories of hope have kept people going amid the terrifying situation. And this particular story, shared on Twitter by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is bound to make your day.

The post shared on the micro-blogging site talks about a 98-year-old woman named Olha Tverdokhlibova. Olha is a war veteran and actively participated in the Second World War. After Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an

invasion of Ukraine, Olha offered to join the army to protect her motherland. Sadly, she was denied due to her age.

“98 y.o. Olha Tverdokhlibova, a WWII veteran, faced war for the 2nd time in her life. She was ready to defend her Motherland again, but despite all the merits and experience, was denied, though, because of age. We are sure she will celebrate another victory soon in Kyiv!” read the caption.

The post has garnered over 3,800 likes and tons of reactions. Netizens cheered Olha’s bravery and wished her a long life.
