7.4-magnitude earthquake hits near Malaku islands in Indonesia

A massive earthquake of 7.4 magnitude hit the northwest of the Malaku islands in Indonesia. The earthquake was measured at 62km deep in the sea. The powerful quake has also triggered a tsunami warning in the



region. 

Indonesia is situated on the 'Ring of Fire an area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean which is vulnerable to frequent earthquake and volcanic eruptions.
