'No Bra Money': Shop tells customers to stop paying sweat-soaked cash stored in bras during heatwave

People across the UK have been struggling in the hot weather ever since the 'extreme heat alert' was issued by the Met Office a few days ago.

Scores of people have been flocking to parks and beaches to get some relief as temperatures have soared over the past few days.

The hot weather is set to continue across the region and highs of 30C and above has been predicted by the Met office in locations including London, Devon, and other southern regions.

The extreme weather condition is causing a lot of discomfort for people venturing outdoors. Now it turns out that some shop owners are miffed about handling 'sweaty' cash, which they receive from customers who don't have pockets.  

One shop's notice has left netizens in stitches. It said that the store would not accept cash that had been stored in customer's bras.

Mattress Mick, owned by Michael Flynn, used the unexpected notice on Facebook, asking customers not to pay with sweaty money from their



bras at the store.

"An URGENT alert in our #coolock store. Due to the soaring heatwave across Dublin and ongoing safe trading with social distancing, we would urge all customers not to pay us from their bras and keep your euro notes in your purse or handbag at all times. Yours Mattress Mick," read the post on Facebook.

The post also had a photo of a handwritten note that read: "Due to rising temperatures, and for our personal safety, we will not be accepting bra money. Sorry for any inconvenience."

The post has received close to 100 shares and comments, with many agreeing with Mattress Mick's request.

Some disagreed with the rule and said that a note cannot do any harm.

A user wrote, "Personal Safety"! That's hilariously ridiculous. What do you think the € euro notes are gonna do to you...jump up and bite you on the neck.

"Are you serious you clown. You don't wanna make money at all," a second added.
