Youth feared drowned in River Manjeera

Medak: A 26-year-old man was feared drowned in the overflowing River Manjeera at Rama Theertham bridge in Papannapet mandal on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Mohammed Shabaz of Bacharam village in the same mandal, had ventured into the river for a swim along with his friends. However, due to the



river being in full spate following recent heavy rainfall, Shabaz was swept away by the strong current while his friends looked on helplessly.

Police and rescue teams launched search operations, but he was not traced till late in the evening
