Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has blamed the Congress and Telugu Desam Party for the backwardness of Hyderabad city.
Addressing a press conference at TRS Headquarters Telangana Bhavan here on Thursday, KCR appealed to the people to vote for TRS candidates in the GHMC elections. He said TRS, Congress, TDP, MIM and BJP are the major parties which are in the fray for GHMC elections and there is no significant change in terms of political parties. Therefore, he said people need to choose the correct party which could bring development in Hyderabad. He said people have seen over 40-year rule of Congress and 17 year regime of TDP. Both the parties have failed to develop the city. However, TRS has a comprehensive development plan for Hyderabad, he said.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government proposes to spend Rs. 30,000 crore during the next five years to develop the city. Since the GHMC’s budget is of nearly Rs. 5,000 crore, the State Government plans to borrow Rs. 25,000 crore from New Development Bank BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) head quartered in Shanghai, China to take several infrastructural projects. He

said that the BRICS Bank has already given its consent to sanction the loan.
KCR claimed that TRS would emerge as the largest party in the GHMC elections. However, in case it needs some corporators to win the Mayor’s post, it would take the help of its ally Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
The Chief Minister said that the previous Congress and TDP regimes have failed to fulfill the needs of Hyderabad city. He said were inadequate number of markets, public toilets, graveyards, garbage dumping yards and other amenities. He said every poor family in the city would get 2BHK houses. He said nearly 1,000 acres of government land has been identified on the city’s outskirts where high-rise buildings of 10-15 buildings would be constructed to provide 2BHK flats to deserving poor families. He said houses would also be allotted to the middle-class people living in rented houses.
KCR also promised construction of 50 multi-purpose community halls, four bus terminals, increase in RTC buses, appointment of 300 officials in Minority Welfare Department, shifting of Chanchalguda Jail and Race Court and other initiatives to develop the city.
