A woman’s burnt body was found under suspicious circumstances near Thatti Annaram in Nagole on Wednesday, triggering concern among locals.
Morning walkers and locals who noticed the body alerted the police.
Police identified the woman as Mangamma, a resident of OU Manikeshwar Nagar.
Preliminary examination suggested that stray dogs had bitten and partially eaten the
body.
A missing-person complaint had been registered at the Osmania University police station on September 28.
Police suspect that Mangamma may have been murdered and are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital for autopsy.
The CCTV footage from the surroundings is being examined to get clarity.
