In a move aimed at making the justice system more accessible to the common people, a woman Head Constable from Dundigal Police Station has broken convention by filing charge sheets entirely in Telugu language.

At a time when English continues to dominate official procedures, her initiative has been widely appreciated within the police department.

The officer, Swaroopa, completed investigations in two cases during 2025 and submitted all final

reports in Telugu, enabling better understanding for complainants and local stakeholders.

While one case involved the seizure of illegally stocked liquor from a grocery store in Bowrampet, while another pertained to tracing a missing migrant woman and her young daughter and safely reuniting them with their family.

Senior officials supported the initiative, stating that the use of regional languages can strengthen public trust in law enforcement.
