Woman dies by suicide at her house in Mangalhat

A 19-year-old woman died by suicide at her house in the Mangalhat area of the city on Tuesday.

According to the police, the woman, Deepika, stayed along with her parents and a brother, at Raheempura in Mangalhat. On Tuesday, her father Dhanraj Singh left for work in the morning while mother Shobha and son Prithviraj Singh went to the temple in the afternoon.

When Shobha and Prithviraj returned home, they found



Deepika hanging from the ceiling fan using a scarf. They immediately removed her and shifted her to the hospital for treatment where doctors pronounced her dead.

“The family members told us that she slipped into depression over the last three days. However, they do not have any idea about what prompted her to end her life,” said Mangalhat sub-inspector T Vinod.

A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
