A wild bear escaped from its enclosure in Nehru Zoological Park at Bahadurpura in Hyderabad on Monday night.
The bear climbed the wall fencing the zoo and was first spotted by locals who immediately informed the police control room about it.
Zoo officials swung into action and it took them a few hours before they managed to trap the bear back with the help of tranquilizers.
According to Zoo officials, the bear dug a big burrow in its enclosure and then escaped through it.
