In view of recent burglaries and chain-snatching incidents under the limits of Warangal police commissionerate, Commissioner of Police Sanpreet Singh has come up with a plan of action to check interstate thieves.
Police investigating the cases have confirmed that over the past few days, criminals primarily those hailing from other States (specifically North India) were involved in both house burglaries and chain-snatching incidents under commissionerate limits.
As Warangal and Kazipet railway stations connect all States across the country;
criminals were using these rail routes to reach the city, commit various thefts and to flee to their native places using the same route.
In a first of its kind initiative in Telangana, four special police teams led by additional DCP (Crimes) Balaswamy and ACP (CCS) Sadaiah have been set up with the dual objective of preemptively identifying interstate thieves and curbing thefts.
Two teams each would be deployed at Warangal and Kazipet railway stations; they would work in coordination with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
