Villagers stone crocodile to death at AP and TS borders

Kothagudem: A crocodile that strayed into Rajupet in Bhadrachalam mandal of the district was killed by residents on Friday night. According to forest officials, the creature entered the village during late night hours from a drain close to River Godavari. The local youth who spotted it smashed its head with stones and killed it.

When contacted, local forest



divisional officer Babu said the area where the incident took place falls in Andhra Pradesh and the forest officials from AP would look into the matter. It might be noted that Rajupet village was divided into two parts when seven mandals from Telangana were merged with Andhdra Pradesh following AP reorganisation. A road divides the village with one side in Telangana and the other in Andhra Pradesh.
