Vigilance and Enforcement Wing Detects Illegally Procured PDS Rice in Vemulawada

The sleuths of Vigilance and Enforcement (V&E) wing conducted a surprise check at Hari Hara Industries in Vemulawada and detected irregularities related to 514 quintals of PDS rice worth Rs. 21.58 lakh.

Following credible information, the V&E officials raided the industry and found that 514 quintals of PDS rice worth Rs. 21.58 lakh was



found illegally procured. 

About 290 quintals of rejected Custom Milled Rice (CMR) pertaining to Mahabala Industries in Samudralingapur were found cleaned and stocked. The illegally procured rice and CMR were stocked for sale at higher prices. The civil supplies department has initiated legal proceedings and criminal cases.
