Tension prevailed at the Primary Agriculture Society in Gajwel market yard on Tuesday morning when two women farmers clashed with footwear while waiting for urea.
With a severe shortage in supply, women farmers from nearby villages had reached the market yard early in the morning. While standing in the queue, two women argued over who had come first.
The argument quickly escalated when one slapped the other, prompting both to attack each other with chappals.
Other farmers waiting in line rushed to
separate them and pacified the situation. The women were later heard criticising the Congress government, alleging that it had forced farmers onto the streets and into queues every day for fertiliser.
