A six-year-old girl sustained multiple injuries after being mauled by stray dogs on the premises of a hostel of Telangana Model School in Kasipet mandal centre on September 5. The CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media on Monday, sparking concern among parents.
The victim was identified as Choppari Akshita (6), daughter of a sweeper working at the hostel. Two stray dogs bit and injured her on the legs and hands when she was walking alone inside the campus.
Her screams drew the attention of her mother, who rushed to the spot and rescued her. Akshita was admitted to the Government General Hospital in Mancherial
town and was discharged on Saturday. Her parents said she remained traumatised after the attack.
The incident triggered panic among parents, who urged officials to address the stray dog menace and strengthen security on the campus to prevent such incidents in future.
