Hyderabad: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has emphasised the need to ensure affordable and accessible healthcare for all. He asked multi-speciality hospitals with modern technology to start satellite centres in rural areas too.

The Vice President, who reached Hyderabad on a five-day visit, inaugurated a private Diagnostic Centre in Hyderabad last evening. The Diagnostic Centre offers Genetic analysis and tests with state-of-the-art facilities. Speaking on the occasion, the vice President appreciated the Central government’s decision to set up at least one medical college in each

district.

He suggested that governments envisage one medical college in each revenue sub-division, to address the shortage of trained manpower in the medical profession and also to increase public access to quality healthcare. He called for increasing the efforts in providing infrastructure support for medical centers across the country.

The Vice President appreciated the frontline COVID warriors for their dedication and hard work and scientists and researchers for coming out with a vaccine against COVID-19 in record time.
