The Telangana government has decided to extend ‘double pension’ facility to ex-servicemen and exempt them from paying property tax. These were part of the several sops announced by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for exservicemen on Friday. If an exserviceman joins the state government services after retiring from the Army, the state

will pay him pension. Thus, he will get two pensions, another one from the Centre. Rao said and directed the officials to issue orders to this effect immediately. The CM also announced waiver of property tax for ex-servicemen on their houses. The CM said that the pension for war widows was raised from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 6,000.
