One of the most respected hockey umpires, M A Jaleel, passed away here after a prolonged illness late on Sunday.
He was 75 and is survived by two sons and a daughter.
Jaleel was a former national player for
the Postal and Telegraphs Department and later became a reputed umpire, officiating in many national tournaments.
The hockey fraternity, including fellow umpires, players and officials, expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
