VAHAN portal to be rolled out in Hyderabad city soon

In a step towards digitising transport services, the Transport Department is planning to roll out the Vahan portal soon, bringing vehicle-related services under a single online platform.

The system is expected to be first introduced on a pilot basis at the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in Secunderabad before being expanded to all RTOs across Hyderabad.

At



present, driving licence services are being delivered through the Sarathi portal. On similar lines, the Vahan portal will handle as many as 52 vehicle-related services, making processes more transparent and accessible.

According to official estimates, nearly 89 lakh vehicles are registered within the Greater Hyderabad (GH) limits, and all their records will be transferred or updated to the new system.
