Uttam 'CM Revanth Assures Rs.5,000 Cr for Land Acquisition'

In a major push to accelerate irrigation projects held up by land acquisition, rehabilitation and statutory clearances, Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday said the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had assured Rs 5,000 crore on priority for Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement works linked to irrigation projects across Telangana. 

He said about Rs 2,000 crore had already been released, while the remaining Rs 3,000 crore was under process. He made it



clear that shortage of funds would not become a reason for delaying irrigation works that were otherwise nearing completion.

Addressing a comprehensive review of irrigation projects under implementation in the districts of Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Rajanna Sircilla (erstwhile Karimnagar district), Uttam Kumar Reddy directed District Collectors and Irrigation officials to treat land acquisition, R&R, forest clearances and environmental approvals as priority issues and resolve them on a war footing.
