Allegedly upset over his ill health, a septuagenarian died by suicide by jumping from the multistoried building of an old age home where he was staying in Balapur on Thursday.

The victim Narasimha Reddy (75), a retired private employee was staying along with other elderly persons at an old age home at Mallapur for the last two years. Police said Reddy, who was quite upset over his ill health, had gone to his son Harish’s

house in Jubilee Hills on Sunday and returned on Monday. On Thursday, he went to the fourth floor of the building and jumped to his death from there.

In a suicide note purportedly written by him and found in his room, he said he was ending his life as he had no more interest in living and held nobody responsible. The Balapur police registered a case and are investigating. The body was handed over to the family after autopsy.
