Unidentified man was found hanging from a tree in Nirmal

A 35-year-old unidentified man was found hanging from a tree under suspicious circumstances on the banks of the Godavari river in Basar on Saturday. Locals expressed doubts over it being a case of human sacrifice during a sorcery act.

Police are still trying to identify the man and suspect that he could be from Maharashtra. A case was registered and



investigation was taken up. The reasons behind the death are being investigated.

Meanwhile, local people suspected that he could have been done to death during a sorcery act, considering the material found at the spot. They reasoned that he might have been killed on January 19, a no moon day. They urged the police to probe the death from various angles, including sorcery.
