Unemployed youth in Khammam took out a protest rally on Thursday and staged a dharna at Ambedkar Centre, demanding that the State government issue job notifications.

The protest was held under the banner of ‘Khammam Unemployed Youth JAC’. Over 1000 unemployed youth marched on the streets, demanding the release of the job calendar, implementation of the Youth Declaration of the Congress, and notifications for two lakh jobs.

Enugula Rakesh Reddy, addressing the rally, said that the unemployed youth in the State were unhappy with the Revanth Reddy government. Recent protests by unemployed youth in Mahabubabad and Thursday’s rally in Khammam prove this.

He reminded that the Telangana movement also took root in erstwhile Khammam, with unemployed youth supporting the Mulki, non-Mulki Movement. Similarly, the youth had now started their fight against the Congress government’s failures
