Like last year, this year too the Ugadi celebrations will be a low key affair in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases in the State, Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said on Thursday.

Though it has been a custom to organise Ugadi celebrations by the State Government, this year, as per Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s directions, it was decided that the festivities would be without much fanfare, he said.

He sought the cooperation of devotees in

containing the spread of COVID 19, by staying away from congregations and appealed to them to watch the live telecast of Ugadi Panchanga Sravanam (rendition of almanac) on television channels.

The Minister will unveil the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, Yadadri Panchangam on April 13 at the Endowments office, Boggulkunta here at 10.30 am .

This will be followed by rendition of almanac by B Santosh Kumar Shastry at 10.45 am.
