Two teachers were suspended following the suicide of a student from the Telangana Social Welfare Residential College (Girls), Chennur. The suspension order was issued by Warangal Zonal Officer Girija on Sunday evening.

According to the order, the teachers were suspended for their alleged role in the death of Shri Hindu (13), a Class VII student from Gangaram village.

A committee comprising Girija, District Coordinating Officer Ramakalyani, senior lecturer Maheshwar Rao, and staff member Naveen conducted an inquiry into the incident and submitted a report to

the District Collector and the Secretary of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS).

Officials said the girl had reportedly shown suicidal tendencies over the past six months.

She was said to be depressed following the recent death of her uncle, health issues including chest pain, and after being reprimanded by teachers for disturbing a Class X student preparing for examinations, an official said.

A suicide note purportedly written by the student was also submitted with the report.
