Two persons arrested for human trafficking in Mancherial

Two persons were arrested for their role in the alleged illegal adoption of a child in Luxettipet town on Friday evening, while two more accused were reported to be absconding.

Luxettipet Inspector Ramana Murthy said Alluri Seetharamaraju of Thegalpahad in Nasspur mandal and Bojja Swarupa of Mahalaxmiwada in Luxettipet town were apprehended for their involvement in facilitating the adoption of a child by a couple from Modela village. Jaya and Anwesh of the



district were identified as the other accused.

During interrogation, Seetharamaraju and Swarupa reportedly confessed to committing the crime to make quick money by mediating between childless couples and human traffickers. 

They admitted to extracting huge amounts from barren couples from the district and several other parts of northern Telangana by supplying children. They also revealed that the child was procured through Jaya and Anwesh.
