Immigration officials allegedly detected fake air tickets carried by two Nepalese nationals who had arrived to board a flight to Dubai at the RGIA on Friday.
As per information available, the forged tickets came to light during verification of the passengers’ travel documents.
Officials found discrepancies while examining the tickets and, upon
further scrutiny, confirmed that they were not genuine. Both passengers were detained for questioning.
Airport authorities and immigration officials are investigating how the fake tickets were procured and whether a travel agent or organised racket was involved in the fraud.
Based on the outcome of the questioning, a case will be registered by the RGIA police.
