Two persons were arrested on Thursday for allegedly murdering a social security pension beneficiary after she demanded repayment of a loan a few weeks ago. Two mobile phones were seized from them.
SP Akhil Mahajan, in a statement, said Mohammad Farooq and Bassi Ramesh, both from Indervelli, were apprehended for their involvement in the murder of Imrana Zabeer, who was initially reported missing but was later found dead under suspicious
circumstances in the Mavala mandal centre on November 26.
During the course of interrogation, Farooq and Ramesh confessed to committing the crime. Farooq admitted to killing Imrana by smothering her when she insisted that he repay a loan of Rs 8.80 lakh and eight tolas of gold he had borrowed from her.
He disclosed that he took the assistance of Ramesh to commit the offence at her house when she was alone.
