TSRTC to run specials for Medaram Jatra

The TSRTC will run 4,200 buses for devotees visiting Medaram during the biennial jatara. A total of 3,700 buses were in 2016. RTC chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana said the corporation had procured 160 buses this year which would be deployed for the jatara this year. The fares from 53 locations to Medaram have been finalised:

Express: From Hyderabad Rs 360 per



head (Rs 190 for kids); from Hanam-konda Rs 160 per head (Rs 90 for kids).Super Luxury: From Hyderabad: Rs 470; from Hanamkonda Rs 310. Rajadhani and Vajra: From Hyderabad `630; from Hanamkonda Rs 290.

On the main days, nearly 2.61 lakh people are transported in a single day in 3,300 trips, at 11,000 passengers an hour in 450 buses.
