Tue 29 Oct 2019, 10:30:26
On the 24th day of TSRTC stir on Monday, the striking employees staged dharnas at District Collectorates in Telangana. Mild tension prevailed in some places where the workers tried to lay siege to the Collectorates.

After news of woman RTC conductor Neeraja's suicide broke, RTC employees tried to lay siege to bus depots in Khammam. According to the workers and family members of Neeraja, she was in depression after the government announced self-dismissal of nearly 48,000 RTC employees.

Former CPI MLA K Sambasiva Rao, who began an indefinite fast two days ago in support of the striking employees was shifted to a government hospital by police after his health caused concern. Rao, who launched his

fast on Saturday, was admitted to the State-run Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in the early hours of Monday as his blood pressure and sugar levels were down. The left party leader, however, claimed that he was continuing his fast in the hospital.
Former Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao and the leaders of RTC employees' unions expressed solidarity with Sambasiva Rao.

The RTC union leaders said that the strike will continue, and the government has to find solutions to their demands. The unions are ready to take part in the second-round talks with government. The first-round talks on the RTC workers' demands were held on Saturday and ended without any solution.
